Km: 438     Lima – Nasca
Tempo: sol

Km : 438 Lima – Nasca
Weather : sunny
Temperature: min 21 and max 30

We left Lima early and it was quiet and no traffic, very different from when we arrived. The roads are still very good and a lot of straights… very straight. Straight until you lose sight.

Right before arriving in Nasca we stopped at the overlook to see the famous Nasca lines, to be honest we did not see much because the viewpoint is not so high. We arrived in Nasca and went straight to have lunch in a very good, cheap and well catered restaurant. It is the same restaurant that our parents had already eaten when they were on their way to Lima to meet us.

Then we went to the airplane tour to see the Nasca lines. It is impressive to imagine how they have created these things over a thousand years ago and the lines and figures are still so sharp. It was really awesome. The bad part was the Rafael fell sick with motion sickness, letting go all the lunch. It was a very small plane that shifted a lot due to wind and the maneuver all the time. All helped to ruin Rafael’s stomach. He was sweating cold and throw up. Well at least he has taken his hat because it served quite a bit… Af !

He was so sick that the last figures he could not observe them. Partially due to the fact that he was completely pale, cold sweat and vomiting and also because I was on his side helping him. The funny thing was that I’ve asked D.Elcira (Rafael’s Mom) to ask the pilot to “stop ” the plane because Rafael was very sick. It was intense moments, with D.Elcira trying to find paper in the bag so I could help Rafael as it was me who was beside him on the plane.

We couldn’t wait for that little plane to land and to our surprise when we landed we found they were waiting with a wheelchair. From above the pilot advised that he had a sick boy… After the plane landed, Rafael was already better and the wheelchair was not necessary. After all the intense moments, we had a good laugh but at the time it all happened it was a darn hard time.

We took advantage of the nice afternoon to go to a local market and walk around the city of Nasca. We ended up buying lots of fruits and that was all we dined. Beyond the beer I could not miss … It was a very enjoyable evening and we were on the balcony of the hotel goofing off.
Tomorrow we have more roads to cover.
