Km:  507  Campeche – Chichen-Itza – Cancun
Tempo: sol, chuva forte e muito calor, mas muito calor.
Temperatura: mínima de 23 e máxima de 32

Fomos conhecer o centro de Campeche antes de partirmos. Campeche é uma cidade murada, o centro da cidade é todo rodeado por muros. Uma cidade bem arrumada para os padrões Mexicanos que temos visto até agora.

De Campeche seguimos em direção a Chichen-Itza para conhecer suas ruínas. De Mérida a Chichen-Itza pegamos a estrada pedagiada, que é relativamente boa, com muitas obras e paga-se caro – $5 por 100 km… Isto é a tarifa de moto!

Chegamos em Chichen-Itza e logo ficamosficamos assustados com a quantidade de turistas, ônibus e mais ônibus cheios de turistas. Logo após que chegamos, também chega um casal viajando (Erica e Maxi) com uma BMW 800, vão viajar por 1 ano e saíram da Argentina com destino final o Alaska. Isso sim é uma viagem e tanto… Trocamos algumas experiências e contatos e logo seguimos para conhecer as ruínas de Chichen-Itza.

Muito interessante as ruínas e todo o sítio em si, o que não era interessante era o calor que fazia. Insuportável, muito úmido de fazer você derreter. E para ajudar, como estamos viajando então estávamos de bota da moto. Deu para cozinhar todas as frieiras do pé. 🙁

Ficamos duas horas e meia andando e conhecendo todo o sítio, mesmo debaixo daquele calor.Saímos de Chichen-Itza com direção a Cancun. Rafael resolveu não pegar a rodovia pedagiada, resumindo: muitas pequenas cidades e lombadas foram visitadas. Uma coisa ruim das estradas pedagiadas e livres do México é que uma vez que se pega a livre,  não tem jeito de ir para a pedagiada – Diferente do que imaginamos,  pois o plano era pegar um pouco de estrada local e depois ir para a pedagiada.

Em Cancun nos demos o luxo e reservamos um hotel com tudo e mais um pouco incluso, chegamos por volta das 6:00pm, foi só o tempo de tirar a roupa de moto, colocar algo mais confortável e fomos conhecer as instalações do hotel e logo após jantar.

Fomos dormir cedo pois além do cansaço queríamos acordar bem cedo no próximo dia pois a intenção era de ver o nascer do sol, uma vez que do nosso quarto temos a visão do mar do Caribe.

Nada mal 😉

We visited Campeche’s downtown before we left. Campeche is a walled city, the whole city center is surrounded by walls. A neat city for Mexican standards that we have seen so far. From Campeche we headed to Chichen-Itza to vist its ruins. From Merida to Chichen-Itza took the toll road, which is relatively good, with many road works, but expensive – $ 5 per 100 km … This is the rate of motorcycle!

We arrived in Chichen-Itza and soon we were amazed by the amount of tourists, buses and more buses full of tourists. Soon after we arrived, a couple traveling (Erica and Maxi) with a BMW 800 arrived. They will travel for 1 year and left Argentina with Alaska as their final destination. Yes it is a long journey … We exchanged some experiences and contacts and then we went to visit the ruins of Chichen-Itza.

Very interesting ruins and all the site itself. What was not interesting was the heat. Unbearable, too humid to make you melt. And to help, as we were a with motorcycle boots. It allowed us to cook our foot. 🙁

We spent two and half hours walking and knowing all the site, even under that heat. We left Chichen-Itza to Cancun and Rafael decided not to take the toll road, in short: many small towns and speed bumps were visited. A bad thing about free and tool roads in Mexico is that once you get the free, there’s no way to go to toll – Different than we think, becase the plan was to get some local roads and then go to tool road.

In Cancun we gifted ourselves with a bit of luxury and booked a nice hotel with everything and all-inclusive. We arrived around 6:00 pm, it was just time to remove stuff from the bike, put something more comfortable and we went to check out the hotel facilities and soon after have dinner.

We went to sleep early because besides the tiredness we wanted to wake up early the next day. The intention was to see the sunrise, since our room have a view of the Caribbean Sea.
